“Motel 6 would have been better!”

We are driving 5 hours from Charleston SC. We first reserved our room online at the Days Inn in Gray, GA. I recieved a confirmation at that time, but after an hour on the road I was wondering why we hadn't yet gotten a confirmation email. We called the Days Inn in Gray and the clerk told me he CANCELED my room as soon as he saw it because I stated I had a small dog! The website for that hotel states that small pets are allowed and so does the reservation line when you call to reserve a room there...MISREPRESENTATION...The clerk stated as of 2008 they no longer accept pets, he canceled my room and DIDNT let us know, AND was VERY rude on the phone. SO we had to find another room while on the road to GA. I decided unfortunately to stay at another Days Inn. I found the Days Inn in Milledgeville, GA. I reserved the room online again and this time called the hotel to confirm they accepted pets. I also wrote "small dog" on my reservation. We arrived in GA around 130am and got into our room. It was very cold so we turned the heat on and noticed it was making the room COLDER. We tried to call the front desk to inform them (the phone in the room didnt work either) so my husband had to walk over to the lobby and inform him. I had to get my children out of bed and relocate them to another room. (the first room also and a large hole in the wall AND the picture over the bed FELL OFF of the wall and almost hit my 4 year old in the head when he was in the bed!!) anyhow, in the next room the heat did work but the toilet did not! we had to open the toilet cover and pull the chain each time we needed to flush (GROSS)...the day we had to check out the woman at the front desk called us and said she had been calling us "all day" on December 31st because we needed to pay the pet fee for our stay. We came to GA because we were visiting family, why would we have sat in our room?? And I paid the night I checked in and also let them know I had a pet, they shouldve charged me then?? Needless to say this woman was VERY rude, telling my husband "someone is trying to "steal money here" insinuating we are trying to steal because we hadn't paid a fee that your clerk forgot to charge...With how terrible the service and our accommodations were my stay should've been free anyhow!! I stay in hotels at least 5 times a month and I must say Days Inn has been the worst experience I have EVER had. The clerk upon check out needs to be FIRED she has terrible customer service skills and maintain!!!!
