“Week-end Away with Spouse”

Although this hotel is on the older side, it was very clean and the staff was quite friendly. It is conveniently located across the road from Casino Rama but is pricey, especially on week-ends when there are shows at the casino. Since the only other immediate competition is staying at the casino hotel (which is much more expensive), they can command the high price and is usually fully booked on week-ends. They offer a limo service to the casino for $8 each way, but that can be split with other passengers. The limo back to the hotel stops at 2 am (another $ 8) which may not be late enough for those who want to try their luck in the casino. Since the only restaurants in the vicinity are located in the casino and they close by 2 am, it would be nice if the hotel at least offered 24 hr. coffee and maybe a snack (granola bars?) for their late night guests. I recommend you bring your own drinks/snacks and store them in your mini-fridge. You also have a microwave and small coffee pot in the room. My only real complaint is that the curtains covering the window did not block out the sun in the early morning. They are only "half" (short) curtains and the sunlight came streaming into the room by 7 am, waking both of us. Since we are accustomed to darkness when sleeping, this was problematic and better curtains (maybe blackout drapes) would have been a welcome addition.
