“Needs some updating”

  , Nashville
This hotel has seen some better days. The first 2 nights my wife and I had a Jacuzzi room with a fireplace. The Jacuzzi was almost big enough for one of us to get in, as we are both over 6 feet tall, needless to say, both of us was not going to work. The gas fireplace was a nice touch, but we could never get the flames to look like more than a gas BBQ grill. The room itself needed some updating, fresh paint, carpets etc. as it has seen some wear and tear. The door looked like it had been kicked in at one point, and never replaced, just pushed back in to place. Lots of light, (and cold winter air), leaked in constantly. We decided to stay over for a third night, but due to conventions, and the holidays, this was the only hotel that was available for the 3rd night, and we moved to a regular King room. This room was much smaller and in need of updating as well. The biggest problem was the heater in the room dying while we were out sight seeing. We called and got it replaced, but with a different model, so the maintenance tech had to re-wire the outlet, as the new cable wouldn't plug into the old outlet. Neither of the beds, (both King's), were very uncomfortable and my wife and I didn't get much sleep, as we were constantly waking up and trying to get comfortable. Overall, the staff was friendly and always willing to try and help, and the hotel has a great location, but I think we will try a different hotel on our next trip to Gatlinburg.
