“Not Terrible”

We stayed at the Days Inn for one night to attend a wedding. I booked the Days Inn due to their low price and relative location to the reception site. We had stayed at Days Inn previously and while they have never been 5 star quality, its been an average hotel at a good price. Upon arrival to the Days Inn at Branford my fiance and I were a bit unsure as to what we had gotten ourselves into. The outside is a bit old and it has a motel layout as opposed to your typical Days Inn hotel layout. We arrived before check in time and we were given a room right away which was nice. When we got to our room we felt better about the stay. The room was definitely old (older TV, some paint peeling, older moldings) but it seemed clean. After further investigation of the bathroom and bed linens we found it to be mostly clean (there was a pillow case with a brown faded stain, we just put that to the side). The biggest gripe that I had with the room was that the heater was not blowing out warm air. It seemed to be just blowing out air from the room because it wasn't cold air but it certainly wasn't heat. We left it on while we went to the reception. When we returned from the reception (at around 11) the restaurant that is next door was pretty crowded and the parking lot was pretty full, but everything seemed quiet which was nice. No real issues with noise or anything. It is located right next to 95 so there was some residual highway noise but nothing we could hear in our room and we were in the building that ran parallel to it. Overall, if you are looking for a 5 star resort, obviously you want to take your business elsewhere. But if you are looking for a decent place to stay a few nights that is close to 95 and decently priced, I would say it's worth it.
