“Expected more, got pretty bad”

  , Cherry Hill
Beds were so hard, I could barely move in the morning from the back ache. Blackout curtain had holes which you could see through drapes. Ceiling was cinder block! Very strange. It made us feel like we were in a basement. Layout of hotel iteself was odd. Sewerage plant is located behind hotel, but thankfully, the wind was blowing the right way. Felt "creepy" at night, entering by the door which was isolated at the rear of the building. It was relatively clean, just old and dated. Room door itself was all banged up, with gouges and scrapes. Room was very small. No closet; just a rack attached to the wall that served as a place to hang clothes. Only about 5 hangers were actually usable. (They were those two part hangers, which one part is attached to the rod, and the other is used to hang the clothes. The actual hanger part was missing from most of the hooks.) Exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work. Cleaning staff were standing right at the exterior door, smoking, when we had to exit to our car. We had to pass through them to get to our car. We checked in around 10pm. Staff member checking in was pleasant enough, but seemed more like a bored high school student than a professional member of a hospitality staff. The breakfast was less than satisfactory, with stale bagels, cardboard biscuits, overripe fruit, etc. Entrance to breakfast room only by room key, so be sure to remember to bring it with you! We happened to leave our keys in the room, checking out early, forgetting we needed them for breakfast. So we had to skip breakfast. Overall, a very unsatisfactory stay. I will NOT return, ever, to this hotel.
