“Terrible hotel!!”

  , Gibsonia
Upon arrival, my son used the restroom and the toilet didn't flush. We tried several times to re-flush and the water kept coming dangerously close to overflowing. I immediately went out to the front desk and told the clerk who then asked a non-English speaking man to plunge the toilet. After several minutes in the bathrroom, he came out and kept saying "you see?" "you see?" So we tried the toilet, and it did flush, albeit very slowly. When I went to put our drinnks in the refrigerator, all the shelves were broken (yet deceptively propped up inside). My son took his shoes off and said "um, mom? The carpet is all wet." He had soaking wet socks in a matter of a minute. I then proceeded back to the front desk and asked for a different room. The girl at the desk ( Ala) could not have been nicer and more apologetic. she immediately put us in the room across the hall. While this was slightly better, the room was pretty dark and the shower fluctuated between freezing cold and burning hot both days (mostly on the cold side). The first morning at breakfast, the manager was in the dining room trying to make amends to several families that apparently had complained also. He was handing out candy bars and water bottles to everyone! As if this was going to change how you felt about the experience! I would never return to this hotel, despite the fact that is was only a few miles from where we needed to be all weekend.
