“Low Budget - You get what you pay for in this case”

  , Wake Forest
I've gotten "good deals" on plenty of rooms - this one was very low-cost, but I would have paid more to stay in a nicer hotel. The bathroom was clean and it appeared to be bug-free, and other hotels were full, which is the only reason we stayed. The downside was that this hotel is very old and dingy and hasn't been updated in many years. The bedding was old, very worn, thin, scratchy, and full of cigarette burns in our non-smoking room. There were other guests in the hotel who seemed to be there simply to party - groups of noisy 20-somethings hanging out on the balcony. The pillows were flat as pancakes and the bed was lumpy. The carpet was so dirty I did not want to take off my shoes. The in-room coffee pot smelled like mildew. The whole room smelled bad, but they tried to cover it up with flowery smelling air freshener which just made it worse. There were not enough lights in the room. The fridge and microwave were clean, which was good because we did use those. The continental breakfast was pretty sparse. In summary, I will definitely not stay in this hotel again, no matter how cheap it is.
