“Average with loud neighbors”

  , Raleigh
Basic average accommodations for a cheap price = decent value for a frugal person. Stayed 4 days. Big bathroom counter outside the bathroom, with shelves underneath, was nice. Comfortable king bed. Clean room. Only bad smell was outside from nearby Codorous Creek when the wind blew that way. It was 40 degrees out, and the heater was barely able to keep the room warm. It took about 8 hours to heat it up on our first day, since it was off when we arrived. It ran continuously all day on highest setting for 3 days. Occasionally, the A/C compressor kicked on (?). Exhaust fan in bathroom was so loud, I disconnected it (shhh), but there was a constant exhaust air flow without it, so it really wasn't necessary. Heard people with loud kids through the adjoining room door. Complained to front desk, who asked them to change rooms the next day. Nice for me, not nice for them. This happened twice. The last two days, the staff didn't put anyone on either side of our room. Thank you staff. They should seal the adjoining room doors.
