“Drive the extra 30 miles and stay elsewhere!”

  , Doylestown
I booked a room at Days Inn (Elizabethtown), three months in advance, for a family reunion. I specified late check in and a "king size bed." My husband is an ex-football player and unless I am sleeping on the floor, we need a "king" sized bed. Well, after 9 hours of travel time, to get there, alas no room at the Inn. Yes, they gave our room away and didn't have an explanation as to how it happened. They offered us the one room they had....a single with one full-sized bed. Not even a queen, but a full. Well, upon seeing my husband size, the clerk was in agreement that it wouldn't work. I asked for the next closest hotel, which was in Lumberton (30 miles away). He then informed me that he had to charge me for my room. I couldn't understand as they didn't give me a room. They wanted me to pay for their mistake. I promptly advised them that I would not and rang my charge card company to advise them of the situation. Of which they agreed that said requested services were not provided. Fast forward to Saturday and Sunday. Yes, he quickly told me as I was walking out that they would have a "king" on those two days and we could return to stay with the intended. Well,we returned against my better judgement, because I don't see my parents very often. And yes, the horror continued. That evening, as we were returning from the days festivities, some of the family members remained in the parking lot vchatting and catching up. They quickly noticed numerous couples entering rooms without luggage. Some family members went to the pool and saw those same people exiting and leaving about an hour later. Wel,, that wasn't real suspicious until we realized that it was the same 'women.' Yes! This unassuming Days Inn in a sleepy little war town was indeed a place that was being used for the oldest trade known to man. I was grossed out. It was the only hotel in town and I guess others knew that. I am such a germ a phobe until i travel with my own sheets and anti-bacterial wipes...thank goodness in yhis case. Needless to say, my cousin will never host the "family reunion" ever again!!! As for this hotel, stay away! Oh, upon checkout the clerk came to the locked door and actually asked in a very rude tone...."what do you want?" I wanted to say to check out of hell! Instead I politely said, we need to check out. She opened the door and proceeded to even screw the pooch on the checkout paperwork.
