“Sorry I stayed here”

  , Glen Allen
We were looking for a place to sleep for the night while on the road. I will say the person at the 800 number who booked our reservation was incredibly helpful and kind. I bet if he'd seen the hotel though, he would've told us to stay somewhere else. The reception desk person in training was kind and helpful. The person training her however left a lot to be desired. It started with a knock on the bathroom door from my companion. When there was no response, he attempted to walk in. The traniner began to yell (yes I could hear it at the reception desk) and said not to come in because the lock was broken. Once we had a room, I called down for additional towels and washcloths. This same trainer requested I come down to get them because they were really busy. As I was walking down, I ran into the person in training who was kind enough to get the needed items for me and bring them to my room. The next morning, I again ran into the woman who was supposed to be training others. She'd begun to clean rooms in her bedroom slippers. The room...where to begin. The a/c unit had been turned off. The room felt about 90 degrees. It was cooler outside. I will say it was able to cool to a comfortable temperature within about 30 minutes. The sink was dirty with what looked like strawberry seeds. The bathtub was either dirty or stained. The faucet was pulling away from the wall, When they attempted to paint, things were not taped or covered. Consequently there was paint sprayed on towel racks, fixtures, etc. They didn't bother to paint behind the toilet. The extra lock on the door was broken/gone. The wall plate for the phone jack was coming off the wall. Finally, the "high speed wireless"internet was a joke. I barely got 1 bar on the wireless and I had to stand next to the window for that. For the best reception, I had to go outside and then constantly walk around because the reception for the wi-fi was sketchy at best. The sheets were clean. The breakfast consisted of waffles and cereal. It was not worth the money paid!!!
