Our first room was on the ground floor. The carpets were terrible outdated and did not feel fresh which adds to the overall appeal of cleanliness. The lounge chair emmitted a cloud of dust when we slapped it as a clean test. The comforters are the old quilted overlay style that I have not seen used in the last 10 years. All the hotels I stay in now are synthetic down comforters with white sheet duvet covers that can be washed. The pattern was terribly outdated, again making the space feel old which illudes to uncleanliness. We switched rooms to get off the ground floor and our second room did have new carpet, however the two armless side chairs were in an old dingy faded fabric that again looked dirty. The window coverings were not black out so the exterior door light shown in our room all night. The lobby had a flickering can light and a red neon sign denoting the lounge area, that gave a terrible glow to the lobby making it feel cheep and low class. Our matress was not firm in the least bit and felt lumpy to sleep on. The paint was chipping off the door frames, which again gave the impression of uncleanliness.
