“Extremely overpriced room”

  , Dayton
The nightly rate was at least tripled for the night. When we asked what event was going on that caused the rate to sky rocket, we did not get a straightforward answer. The vague answer was "football" game. If the increase in the rate was justified, you would think the staff would have known what the event was. The rate was $149.00 for at best a $60 or $70 dollar value. What was the most irritating was that the breakfast was cut off sharply at 9:00 on a Sunday morning. We had been traveling for 10 days by this point and had stayed at several Holiday Express, Best Western and Quality Inn motels by this point. All of them were a better experience for less expense. With the exception of the Best Western all of them had breakfast cutoffs at 10:00 and opened for breakfast at either 6:00 or 6:30. The Best Western was a business conference hotel also in a commercial site so it was understandable that the cutoff would be at 9:00 on a weekday.
