“Very Dissatisfied with Staff/Manager”

To Whom It May Concern:I have stayed at this particular Days Inn several times already, 2 rooms for one week this past August, and three separate trips earlier in the year. We have never had any problems. Initially a room was booked through an internet website under my boyfriends name. I never received an email confirmation though. When I called the week prior to the trip, I assumed I put the trip in my name and was rightly told there was no reservation. So I booked another under my name. Due to the massive east coast snow storm, we had to move the reservation twice due to the cancelling of my transportation to get from NYC to VT area. When I went to check in my cc would not go through. Apparently an approx $330 hold from Days Inn was on there. I could not understand why this trip's cost could not be taken out (the trip was shorter than initially booked) from that hold. I got no answer. I did pay for the room, then in checking with my cc company several days later showed the hold still as well as a one night's stay charged. I could not figure it out. I went to the front desk and spoke with the Manager. She was rude, dismissing, and insisted there was no such hold nor charge. Exasperated, I spoke to my mother, she worked for Hyatt Hotels at several properties for 20 years. She then called the hotel just trying to figure out the charges. She was told the computers were down. She wanted the Manager just to write down the information, her phone number, and when the computers were up and she had time, have the Manager call her back. The Manager refused to take a message!! Flat out refused, and in a nasty tone kept repeating 'our computers are down', almost like perhaps my mother did not know what that meant!! Eventually we figured out what happened, and were fine with the charges, it was my fault for initially booking two rooms erroneously. But the rude and discourteous service could not and will not be forgiven. There are two upcoming trips to this area my family was planning on making, and we definitely WILL NOT be staying at the Days Inn.
