“Worst hotel experience by far”

We selected this hotel primarily for the location. We also assumed that because it was a national chain, there would be reasonable quality controls in place. So much for assumptions! Although the employee who checked us in was friendly and helpful, he was initially unable to find our reservation. We eventually checked in only to find that the "non-smoking" room we were placed in reeked of cigarette smoke. We called back to the front desk to request another room and the gentleman met us at another room a few doors down. Once we were in that room, the only problem seemed to be that it was a little run-down, but within minutes of being in there we found ourselves having to kill a cockroach. We again expressed our dissatisfaction to the front desk, he apologized and offered to forward our complaints to the manager in the morning. We checked out the next morning and reiterated our complaints to the man who was apparently the manager to no avail, he didnt even look up from his computer screen to acknowledge us, let alone offer an apology.
