“Bed, A/C unit noise,tel.not working”

  , Denton
Hi, I appreciate the chance to tell someone in your company about my stay at the Denton. I arrived from Tulsa via several other locations at 12;10. Asked for a wake-up call for 6;30. Just needed enough sleep to be able to work that day. I turned on the A/C unit and it would make load noises intermittently. I thought I could still sleep with the noise. The bed was probably the hardest I have ever had the misfortune to sleep on but still I though I could get 4 or 5 hours sleep. After half an hour the noise increased and became unbearable. I tried dialing the desk but all I heard was "you have no messages, please dial " something or other, can`t remember all of the prompts. I tried again because I wanted a room I could sleep in but got the same message. I was too tired to go downstairs and try to get another room. Turned off A/C and opened a window. It was hot. I don`t know how many times I woke up but I finally gave up and went to the desk at 6;00 and complained, asked for wake-up call to be cancelled. Person at desk suggested I call manager later in the day. I did so, explained what had happened and asked for a better room that night and if he could transfer the previous nights payment to Friday night. I had payed for Wed. and Thurs nights. He said he was not able to do that but would give me a better room that cost $10.00 more (not charging me for extra). I said I would like a refund because I believe the room I was given should never have been made available. I talked to one gentleman that said the room he had was great, with a new bed. I have stayed at many Days Inns before and stayed at this hotel before it was a Days Inn and never experienced this before. I do not wish to complain against any staff members. I believe it probably is hotel policy not to issue a refund or give another nights stay to make up for a bad room. I don`t think that is good policy. I will most likely stay in a Days Inn Motel again, I know from experience that it is a good, reliable Motel Chain. I am however very angry that this room was allowed to be rented. I had soem hard work to do down in Texas and this made things that much harder. Thanks, Dave Shaw. 918 809 4569
