“6 days in Days Inn”

Between March 9th and March 14th I took my Grand son on a tour of Texas Historic sites and spent each night at a different Days Inn ( Abilene, San Marcos, San Antonio, Stafford and Fairfield). Two things stood out to me. 1) They were all clean but had problems. 2) these problems were preventable. Arriving at Abilene we determined that the address advertised was the correct number but should have been the access road and not the Interstate Highway. When we arrived for breakfast in San Marcos the food provided was so poor we went to an IHOP. The stay at Stafford was the real supprise when we discovered that the room we were assigned had been ripped off of (Clock Radio, TV Control Box, Lamp Shades, Trash can, phone, Toilet paper and Chair) which should have been reported to the management by the maid service. In addition, the toilet was over running the entire time we were there and all they did was hand me a plumbers friend. When I complained here, the clerks had no response other than to wait to talk with the managers who were not there while I was there. Clearly we are owed a refund for our expenses for that night. The stays at San Antonio and Fairfield were what I have learned to expect when I stay at a Days Inn and they are to be commended for at least maintaining a basic level of service.
