“Basic, no frills: You get what you pay for”

  , Aurora
Pro: The room was clean and in good condition. The bed was comfortable enough. The coffee provided with the in-room coffee maker was good. I liked the old-fashioned TV because it came with a guide channel--something the new flat-screen TVs in more expensive hotels don't have because (I suspect) they want to steer guests toward the pay-per-view channels. I appreciated the fact that Days Inn did not do this. Not so nice: The decor was shabby/dingy, like it hadn't been updated since the 1980s. The mini fridge froze the veggies that I put in it overnight. The heating system made a significant noise, which went on and off throughout the night, waking me up several times. The bathroom was small and darkish--functional enough and seemed clean but not inviting. The breakfast was very, very basic. The juice machine had run out of juice by 9:00 a.m. and there was no attendant to refill it.However, by staying at this hotel, I saved about $60 over the hotel I stayed at last time in Windsor, which was super comfortable and ticked all the boxes. I chose Days Inn to save money, and I got what I paid for.
