“More like a Motel 6”

  , Seattle
This 'Inn" looked more like a cheap motel. The lobby smelled musty. My room also smelled bad- it was VERY small. The shrubbery outside my room door contained litter: broken bottle, dirty washcloth, this type of thing. the parking lot was litter-y and the ashtray outside my dorr was full of butts. the girl in the room next to me had a 45 minute long verbally abusive argument (with her father) in the dorrway of the room next to me. I couldn't help but hear the whole thing. neither could her 3 year old boy....I tried to enlist the help of the staff to get her to at least go in her room and close the door to finish her argument but they said she "wasn't breaking the law". Didn't get half of the channels on the station gude- there was an HBO movie guide but I didn't get HBO. The bed felt like a cot, the pillows like cardboard. I couldn't tell how clean the bathroom was- it was very dim in there. My dogs empty food bowl was swarming with mini ants in the morning. The "continental breakfast" was sorry- a loaf of white bread, dry pasties / dounuts and itty bitty hard beagals. Didn't see any juice at all- and had to hunt for the milk (found it in the fidge) Generally not a picky guest- probably wouldn't have had cause to complain if I was staying at a $50 a night Motel 6- but I expected better from a Days Inn, especially at $80. I regretted not spending the extra $15 and stay at the Shilo.
