the desk clerk Diane was excellent & did all she could to help, but the facility is in major need fo repairs. The desk light plug (fixture) was hanging out of the wall. She needed to get an extension cord to put the alarm clock in a plug. The 2 washers both took 20" minimum to fill & then did not empty. Diane tried to get the 2 machines to work better, no luck. Our costs for the laundry were refunded when I asked the next AM & that clerk was gracious as well. My 18 month old grandson had thrown up & we needed to wash his clothes & blankets. My dtr ended up washing them by hand. The 2 dryers were marked "out of order" as Diane said they had caused a fire. I had to change my room to another as the hot water did not work. (When Diane turned some levers to make it work, it leaked on the bathroom floor.) It was a very long trek from the Thruway through unlighted country roads in the dark & rain to even find the Inn. People should be told it's not just minutes off the Thruway. We were exhausted & held from our destination by the constant torrential rains. When we finally got there the sign was rimmed in red light, but in the dark did not say Days Inn. We figured it had to be the place as it was a dead ended road. Some of the hallway caprets were stained & the walls on the stairway were marked. No elevator & we had to drag our suitcases up to a second floor. It seemed very old & in need of renovation, which Diane said they were doing. she did get us a port-a crib for the baby & that was good. ((They stayed in a separate room from me.) I did sleep well when I finally got to bed lat at night. No juice for breakfast, but the restaurant lady gave us some bread for the baby from her area at our request at night. That was good. The shower almost did not work as the lever was so hard to pull out.In summary, your employees were excellent & courteous in trying to be of service& apologizing for the problems, but they should not have to be put into this position. Clearly the motel needs many repairs. It should stay closed till it is fully serviceable. This was an unplanned stop & I always go to Days Inn, anticipating a positive experience. This was so stressful & I hope no one else goes through it.
