“Pay more and stay elsewhere.”

  , Dover
We chose this hotel sight unseen, primarily due to the low rate. I really wish we'd spent $20-30 more and stayed elsewhere. The exterior of the building looks like a prison or a crumbling apartment building. The room itself had a strange odor, half of the electrical outlets didn't work, and the bathtub was full of strange stains. The water pressure in the shower was also not great. The Internet is among the slowest I've encountered at a hotel. I suppose the location is ideal for trips to Old Town Alexandria or D.C., but it's literally on the side of a very busy highway, with absolutely nothing pleasant to look at nearby. Breakfast in the morning was nothing special. On this trip, we stayed in other hotels that were quite a bit cheaper and MUCH nicer. I know accommodations in the Alexandria area are expensive, but I would suggest paying a bit more to stay elsewhere.
