“Horrible smelly hotel. Stay anywhere else if you can.....”

  , Petersburg
This hotel is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. It was over-priced for what you get. The first room was a king, in the rear of the hotel and smelled so bad when we opened the door, it made my eyes water. Between the old, musty dirty smell, was the over powering smell of chemicals they had sprayed around in an attempt to clean. When we refused that room, we were put in a double room in the front, that not only smelled like a closed up dirty closet, but reaked of cleaner. Since all the hotels were booked in the area because of JMU's family weekend, we had no choice but to stay. The room not only smelled, but the toliet wouldn't flush properly, and finally stopped up to the point of over-flowing. The beds were hard, uncomfortable, the blankets looked so worn it looked to be as old as the hotel. Then when we kept getting an increasing number of stinkbugs in the room, we noticed the 3/4 in gap below the door where there was no weather stripping. We were just thankful that only bugs came in the room, and not a snake. Also, the front desk staff is very hard to find. Each time I went to talk to them, they were nowhere in sight. Take my advice, and if you want to stay in a cheap hotel, choose this one. If you enjoy a clean room that you feel like actually returning to a second time, stay as far from this hotel as possible.
