“Good hotel despite a few snags during the stay”

My husband and I had stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and had a good experience so we considered it again for this trip. I was nervous with some of the bad reviews but in the end, due to lack of other options, we decided to give it a try again.First of all, the front desk staff are extremely nice, especially the woman who works weekends. She was so sweet to us and our children! When we checked into our room, we found it to be exceptionally clean and updated from our previous stay in 2008. We requested a non-smoking room and that's what we got. We didn't even smell smoke anywhere on our floor, or in the entire hotel for that matter. Everything was clean and in good working order.The only complaints I really have is that the refrigerator in our room did not work, but we didn't find it out until the next day when our kids milk was almost room temperature. No amount of messing with the temperature dial did any good at all. I did let the front desk staff know about this. Also, on our second day there, we hoped that the housekeeping staff would make the beds for us while we were out because the fitted sheets that they use don't have deep enough pockets and they came off during the night thanks to my having to get up so many times to check on our children. When we got back to the room that evening, we found that one bed had been made, the other was left unmade. Our kids had each left a stuffed animal on the bed and I guess the housekeeping staff did not want to move them, even though they were small stuffed animals, nothing big or crazy. I couldn't understand that. It seemed like the housekeeper was looking for a reason to not do that. They also turned the a/c on full blast, which was totally unnecessary as the high that day was 59 degrees! We came back to a freezer!All in all, we had a good stay and I would stay here again, but something needs to be said to the housekeeping staff and hopefully next time our refrigerator will work.On a side note: I feel like some of the reviews on tripadvisor are biased because the management of this hotel are Indian. I don't know why in the world this matters. Everyone was very kind to us and the hotel was perfectly clean and very well maintained. If having Indian owners and workers bothers you, you'd be doing everyone a favor by not staying there anyway. Racism does no one any good whatsoever and these people are no different than you or I.
