“Terrible attitude”

  , Orange Park
When we checked in the afternoon desk clerk told me to park my motorcycle in the spot right in front of our room. When I saw it was a handicap spot, I went back to the lobby to see if we could change rooms so I could park in front of the room and not be in a handicap spot and was told it's okay to park there as there wouldn't be anyone needing that spot. In the morning I came out to find that the sprinklers had come on and soaked one side of my bike. I dried it off and used some polish to get most of the water spots off, but a lot of mineral spots remained on the chrome and aluminum. I went to the desk to inform them. Not to try to hold Days Inn responsible for anything, but rather to let the clerk know that the sprinklers are watering the parking lot and that the should either correct that problem or warn guests not to park near the grass. Instead of any kind of thank you or apology, I was greeted with complete denial that any of what I had said had happened. I couldn't even get a sentence out of my mouth without being interrupted by the desk clerk. That's right, I was told the sprinklers didn't come on, my motorcycle didn't get wet and there weren't any water spots on my bike. It was like some sick comedy sketch. I said the sprinklers came on, he said "no they didn't". I said they got my motorcycle wet, he said "no they didn't". I said it left mineral spots on the chrome, he said "that's impossible". I asked him to come out and look at the motorcycle and he said "No, there isn't anything to look at". I asked him to come out and look at the water puddles in the park spot, and he refused, saying there couldn't be any water puddles to look at. I finally had enough of his attitude and rudeness and left to go finish cleaning my motorcycle. There were other guests in the lobby, one of which followed me out and expressed his shock at the attitude of the clerk. This man should summarily be fired. I am in retail sales and if I ever spoke to a customer that way I would be fired on the spot, and rightfully so. This particular Days Inn is right across the street from one of the largest Harley Davidson dealerships in the southeast, and I will do what I can to make sure my fellow riders are aware of this pitiful excuse for customer service.
