“A place to sleep, not a place to stay”

  , Sandpoint
My husband and I chose this hotel because of the price--we wanted to spend our money visiting Seattle, not on a room we were only going to sleep in. I will say, the room and everything was very clean. But the building is pretty rundown. The wallpaper was peeling away around the window, some of the grout around the tile in the shower was brown and rotting away, the sink had a hole where it had broken, the "wood" furniture was losing its lacquered facing and exposing the mdf beneath. And our window did not have a lock on it anymore. Only thing keeping it from opening more than 1.5inches was a piece of wood lodged along the window sill. I also noticed that all of the rooms in this particular building had their windows open when there wasn't a guest. But the room was clean. I freak out about any hair, or even lint, in any hotel that I stay at, and I was kind of expecting it here, but, dang, this hotel room was CLEAN. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to sleep while in Seattle. As far as the staff goes, we only met two: the guy who checked us in, and the girl who checked us out, and I had totally different experiences with each of them. The guy who checked us in took a while to even greet us. He was in some other room behind the counter, texting, and when he finally did come around, there wasn't a greeting whatsoever. Just a grunt, "what's your last name", and he handed us the key. That was about it.The girl who checked us out also took a little bit to come up front, not as long, though, and actually greeted us, was very lively, and friendly. In short: CHEAP room, but VERY clean, with fast internet (if you need it) and a free breakfast (bread/toast, cereal, waffles, couple of fruits)
