“Laughably horrible... I could cry”

  , San Francisco
After arriving very late after attending a wedding, I was too tired, and inebriated, to inspect the room. I wake up to use the restroom, and I'm greeted by not one, but three bugs crawling across the floor (a silver fish, small spider and a beetle). I flush hurriedly, and of course the toilet is ridiculously slow. I baby the handle and it eventually does flush. After washing my hands, I go to dry them on what appear to be otherwise clean towels, only to find a long brown hair lying across the hand towel. As I become more disgusted, I also become more intrigued by the filth that I just paid $150 to wallow in.I peek into the armoire and find both water stains and mold in abundance. I walk over to my bed because my bedskirt-less box-spring is moderately discolored, and with a slight push of the mattress, I find the reddish, brown stains of what appear to be either a birth or a death. Appalled, I call the front desk requesting a taxi cab to remove me from this nightmare. The women at the front says it's no problem and informs us that they should be out front in 5-10min and that she'd call when s/he arrived. We go to the lobby after 15min, and she vehemently apologizes for the taxi cab's oversight. She calls them back, or so she claims, and sternly rebukes the dispatcher for not sending someone sooner. After 2min, we are getting in the taxi, and the driver apologizes and says that he came after the first call and says that they are literally around the corner, pointing to their garage. We all agree that the lady upfront was more likely trying to save face. In summary, I'd rather spend $150 to sleep in a cardboard box then step foot in room 305 at the Redwood City Days Inn.
