“Decent room for a decent price”

  , Ithaca
We chose Days Inn because we are Wyndham members and saw that the room rate was relatively less expensive than other lodging in the area. We were in Burns because a family member had a seasonal job there and we were interested in drivng around the Malheur wildlife refuge and the Steen Mountain range . The motel is a short walk to restaurants and grocery stores. Not much to see from the room except the parking lot or street but considering we were out all day it was comfortable for the night. The room had a microwave and fridge plus a coffee pot . The TV and free wifi were also a plus.A fitness room is available off site at a local gym but we didn't have time for that. The outdoor pool is seasonal so it was closed .The lobby office is tiny and accessible only from the outside. The yogurt and cheese sticks were the highlight of the free breakfast. If a traveler prefers a hearty meal the breakfast prices at the diners are rather expensive.or maybe I'm not used to paying $7 for 2 pancakes . The Safeway down the block sells $2 hot tasty breakfast sandwiches though. If we weren't on the road so much we would have stayed a third night and would have qualified for a 3 night discount. Something to think about if you want to base out of Burns and do a lot of day hikes. ( weather permitting)
